"RUDE and unprofessional witer"

I went to the restaurant last night 31/8/10 with my two guests from Thailand for a meal. I was appalled at the rudeness shown to us by one of the waiters. I would have been more patient if the restaurant had been full but at that time of night we were the ONLY 3 diners in there. This remained so for a while and even when we left at 21.00 hrs the place was less than half full.

The table we were originally shown was one of the semi circle booths. The gentleman with me has multiple sclerosis and was unable to slide himself along the seat into the booth. We asked if we could have a table. We were pointed to one nearby that was in the sun. The Thai lady asked not to sit there because she has a skin complaint made worse by sun and she did not have her protection with her as she thought we would be inside. She tried to explain this to the waiter who did not take any notice.

I asked the waiter if we could have a table away from the window. Don’t forget the whole restaurant was empty bedside us 3 diners.

The waiter "tutted" very loudly and just walked off leaving us standing by the table in the sun. As this waiter passed me he said very clearly “don’t know what all the fuss is about why don’t you just sit down”. At which point I asked your waiter what his problem with us was………no reply………I then asked him why he found it necessary to be so rude. He just walked off.

I said to my guests that I as the service was so appalling that we should leave eat elsewhere. There are numerous Asian restaurants in Southampton and I have been to several who have treated their diners with respect and have been very courteous and pleasant. My guest decided to put up with the table and wanted to stay and eat. The waiter then returned and literally threw the menus at us.

I decided that his rudeness was enough and we were about to get up and leave when another waiter came over to our table and said something to the rude waiter and he scurried off into the kitchen. The other waiter was very polite and courteous. Fortunately for the restaurant my guests wanted to stay and eat.

We would like to say that the food was good but I have eaten just as good in other places. I would like to make it clear that if I had been paying the bill I would not have left a tip. However, the gentleman paid the bill and he is a lot kinder and did leave a tip.

As a paying customer one expects a visit to a restaurant to be a memorable happy dining experience. Well this visit to your restaurant was memorable, unfortunately NOT happy.

I will not be going there again and I will not be recommending it to my friends/family/collegues/business associates.
